One of the great things about Austin is the spirit of caring for the things we value. We hope car2go is one of those unique assets that will become a key part of everyday life in Austin. That’s why we need our members’ help to make it all work for the best. Here is a short list of simple rules. By observing them, the system will be much safer and easier for all car2go members and their passengers.

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

It is absolutely prohibited to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. That's not just our rule, it's the law.

NO SMOKING.

There is absolutely no smoking allowed in any car2go.

NO PETS ONBOARD.

For hygiene and safety reasons, animals are not permitted in the car2go.

PLEASE KEEP THE CAR CLEAN.

Never leave any type of waste in the car2go.

WHAT'S OURS IS OURS.

Please do not remove any items that belong to the car2go.

REPORT PROBLEMS.

Damaged or dirty cars must be reported right away to the service team.

WHAT'S YOURS IS YOURS.

Please inform our service team immediately about any lost property.

BE CAUTIOUS.

All car2go participants must be licensed drivers and are obligated to handle the car2go carefully.

NO SHARING.

Never hand over the car2go to a third party. The insurance coverage will not be valid and a contract penalty will have to be paid.

ONLY TWO PER CAR.

No more than two people are allowed in the car2go. It's called a smart fortwo for a reason: it's a two-seater!

NO WRONGFUL USE.

Please do not misuse the vehicle. (Hanging out for long periods in the vehicle without a purpose, racing, commercial passenger transport, etc.)

CHILD SAFETY.

Do not transport infants or small children without the legally required safety devices.
