Together We’ll Make it Work.

One of the great things about San Diego is the spirit of caring for the things we value. We hope car2go is one of those unique assets that will become a key part of everyday life in San Diego. That’s why we need our members’ help to make it all work for the best. Here is a short list of simple rules. By observing them, the system will be much safer and easier for all car2go members and their passengers.

Don’t drink and drive

It is prohibited to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

No smoking

There is no smoking allowed in a car2go. Best to have that last puff before you get in.

I unfortunately can’t go with you

We love them and they are adorable, but animals are not permitted in the car2go. This is for your pets safety as well as hygiene reasons.

Please keep the car clean

Please tidy up any waste when you finish your rental.

Nice to see it again

Please do not remove any items that belong in the car2go.

Reporting obligation

Damage or cleanliness concerns need to be reported right away to the service team.

A matter of honor

Please inform our service team immediately about any lost property you find in a car2go.

Be cautious

Please handle the car2go in a responsible manner. Mind children, pets, or anything that may unexpectedly be in the street.

No unauthorized drivers

Never hand over the car2go to a third party. If someone you know would like to drive the car2go they can first register with us. Should a third party who is not registered get into an accident, the members insurance coverage will be invalid and any resulting penalties will be billed to the driver whose membership was used while committing the infraction.

Two are enough

Although this would be quite a feat, no more than two people should occupy the car2go at once.

No wrongful use

Please do not misuse the vehicle (for example, remaining continuously in the vehicle without a purpose, racing, commercial passenger transport, etc.).

For the sake of the children

Do not transport children without the legally required safety devices.
