Now In Eugene & Springfield
car2go in town
Please remember that Eugene/Springfield and Portland are two separate Home Areas and while your membership works in all locations throughout North America, members are not permitted to start a trip in one location and end it in another. While we would love to make this an option for our members in the near future, we do not have the functionality to do so at this time.
In addition, while Eugene/Springfield will have similar parking rules and regulations to Portland, it is important to note that members are not permitted to park at on-campus locations. This includes metered spots located on University Street between East 13th and East 18th as well as East 13th and East 15th Streets between University and Agate Street.
Rates are subject to 10% county rental tax if trip started within Lane County.

Parking without searching
Parking in a car2go is simple, but it's important to know where you can and can't park. In Portland, you may park in any non-restricted curb side parking throughout the car2go Home Area as well as any Area Permit Parking space. You can park at all parking meter locations without having to feed the meter but may not end your trip in spaces limited to 30 minutes or less. You are allowed to park and end trips in 1-2 hour restrictive parking zones. Commercial, valet, and taxi zones are strictly prohibited. Also note that spaces that convert to traffic lanes are also prohibited.
Before leaving your car, please observe all parking signage and be sure to know the complete Parking Rules and FAQ.
Securely transport your bicycle around town
Multimodal trips encouraged
Portland is home of car2go's pilot bike rack program! There are currently 250 car2go vehicles eqipped with bike racks for members to drive in Portland.
To locate the closest car in your area equipped with a bike rack and for instructions on how to properly secure your bike to the rack, check out this video .
Please note that you will not be able to lower the tailgate on cars equipped with bike racks.
Always ready to go.
Your car2go is waiting
Here's an overview of the car2go Home Area . You can start trips anywhere inside the home area wherever there's a car available, and end trips wherever there is qualified parking available. You can always visit places, friends and family outside the home area but you always need to bring the car back home to end your trip. You will not be able to end the trip until the car reenters the home area. And make sure to know the Parking Rules before you go.

car2go Electric Drive
Plug-in, drive off
car2go is good for the environment
car2go now has electric drive vehicles in the fleet! Thanks to the electric engine you can cruise through the streets practically noiselessly and with zero-emission. These particular vehicles do not emit any CO2, Carbon Monoxide, soot, particulate matter or other pollutants.
Some important things to note while operating an electric drive car2go:
- The electric drive car2gos have a range of about 84 miles on a full charge.
- If the charge is has fallen below 20% during your rental you are required to plug the vehicle into a charging station to end the trip.
- When starting an electric drive you may not be able to tell that the car is actually on because they are so quiet. To start the car, put the key in the ignition, turn it and make sure the performance indicator lights up (where the fuel gauge is on the combustion models). If you can put the car in drive you are good to go.
If the battery performance display in your car2go electric drive sinks below 20% (shown on the round instrument on the left), you must end your trip at a charging station. Select the nearest one on the on the touch screen navigation and follow the directions.
Charge me up!
Electricity to go
If you’re driving a car2go electric drive for a long distance you might have to charge it up with electricity yourself. Here’s how: use the navigation on the touch screen to find the nearest charging station. The charging card is just above the touch screen. You can use it to activate the charging station, then, follow the instructions on the touch screen to connect the vehicle to the charging station.
